The Prep Cell at IIM Kashipur plays a pivotal role in preparing students for placements by enhancing their skills, competencies, and industry readiness. The team provides structured mentorship, domain-specific knowledge sessions, and mock evaluations to help students navigate the competitive placement process effectively. Through rigorous resume-building guidance, group discussions, and personal interview simulations, the Prep Cell ensures that students are well-equipped to secure internships and final placements. Additionally, the team documents placement processes and maintains a repository of company-specific interview experiences to provide structured guidance for upcoming batches. By fostering a learning-oriented culture and refining students’ interpersonal skills, the Prep Cell significantly contributes to the institute’s reputation and placement success.

Throughout the year, Prep Cell organises the following activities to prepare the junior batch for summer placements:

  • Mentorship: Junior batch students are assigned mentors from the Prep Cell, who guide them through the resume-building and skill development process.
  • Resume Preparation: Structured guidance to help students understand the resume format, content, and essential Dos and Don'ts.
  • Group Discussions: Mock GDs are organized to help students practice and enhance their communication, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills, with focused feedback for improvement.
  • Personal Interviews: Mock interviews are conducted to instil confidence and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Domain Discussions: Interactive sessions designed to make students aware of various domains and the roles available in different industries.
  • Preparatory Sessions: Role-specific training sessions to help students prepare for targeted roles and domains.
