Biography

Mohit Ray has a PhD in Operations Management from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad. He has a prior work experience in wagon and steel manufacturing firms. His research interest is primarily in agro-policies, contract farming, and social responsibility issues in agriculture supply chains, with the aim of designing policies and making decisions that can improve the farmers' and consumers' welfare and create value for society. 

He develops stylized models to analyze the strategic interactions of various players in an agriculture supply chain and infer managerial insights. One of his works was awarded the best paper in the "Role of Digital Technology in Reshaping Business" track at the POMS India International Conference 2022, organized by the POMS India Chapter and IIM Kozhikode. He has also published some work in the Annals of Operations Research and the Journal of Agribusiness in Developing and Emerging Economies. He has also presented his works at several conferences, such as SOM, POMS India Chapter, POMS Paris, DOCMAD IRMA, among others.
