Each area retains the right to establish additional screening criteria beyond the minimum requirements mentioned above (sections A and B) for selecting applicants for personal interviews. This may lead to an applicant (applying to two areas) being shortlisted in one area but not in another.
Based on the applications received, applicants satisfying the academic eligibility criteria, minimum qualifying test score and any other criteria set by the area will be shortlisted by the respective areas and will be called for a personal interview (PI) at IIM Kashipur.
Applicants, shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI), will receive three high-quality research papers in their respective area. Applicants will choose one paper for discussion during the interview. The panel will assess their academic ability, research orientation etc. during the PI. The shortlisted applicants will need to demonstrate satisfactory performance across various parameters in the Personal Interview (PI), as determined by IIM Kashipur.
The final selection process considers the applicant's alignment with the academic area they applied for, and an area-specific offer list will be compiled solely by the respective Areas.
Only the applicants satisfying the requirements mentioned in the earlier stages will be considered for the final selection. Academic area-wise merit lists will be generated based on the performance in the Personal Interviews and the provisional admission offers will be made.
Work experience in industry or academics (in reputed organizations), though not mandatory, will be given due credit in the selection process. The work experience as full-time salaried executives/government officials/NGOs or as teachers in an organization/institution of repute is only considered as a valid experience.
