About Details

The Literary Club at IIM Kashipur is a team of individuals passionate about promoting and cultivating the love of literature among students. The club is committed to providing opportunities for students to explore various literary genres such as poetry, prose, drama, and non-fiction. Throughout the year, the club organizes various engaging events designed to hone students’ literary skills. These events include book readings, debates, public speaking sessions, poetry recitals, storytelling sessions, and creative writing workshops. The club leverages internal resources and collaborates with external colleges, literary groups, and events to broaden the scope of its activities. Some of the flagship events of the club include Shabdkosh, Abhivyakti, Du Coeur, Spoken Word Night, and MBA1 VS MBA2 Debate which offer students the chance to showcase their literary prowess and compete with their peers. The club's events are a great way to network, learn, and grow as a literary enthusiast, and students of all backgrounds and interests are welcome to participate.

Events

  1. Yearbook for Batch 2020-2022: The Literary Club collected information, designed and delivered the Yearbook for 2020-2022 batch as a token of remembrance and pride for the monumental years spent at IIM Kashipur.
  2. Event NameDu Coeur - Right From the Heart: The Pan-India poetry writing competition, ‘Du Coeur-Right From the Heart’ was conducted on Unstop from 9th to 16th October, witnessing over 89 registrations. The event aims to nurture creativity and encourages students to write poetry on a diverse range of topics, thus providing a creative platform to budding poets of the Nation.
  3. Book Review Series: With an aim of igniting the passion of reading and waking up the reader inside, book review emails consisting of details about and a short description of the book were shared with the batch.
  4. Library Book Donation Drive: The Literary Club in collaboration with the Library Facility, initiated a book donation drive with an aim to provide the books of institute alumnus to the institutes in vicinity of Kashipur where management courses are run for their academic benefits since those institutes, due to paucity of funds could not purchase the books for their students.The students of MBA1-MBAA1 and MBA2-MBAA2 were requested to lend their hands to the noble cause by donating their books.
  5. The Book Shelf- The Lit Club Book Repository: The Literary Club maintains an online book repository where readers can access more than 500 eBooks. The club also provides an option to request e-copies of specific books through an online form.
  6. Say It Like Kabuliwala: Say It Like Kabuliwala was a new storytelling event organised by The Literary Club. The event aims to help students overcome their fear of public speaking, boost their confidence and in the process, develop the essential skill of engaging storytelling. It was a battle of expression, presentation, confidence and connecting with the audience that saw excellent response from the batch.
  7. Unity Day Exhibition “Sardar Patel- The Architect of Unification”: The Library Club hosted the Unity Day Exhibition organised by the Library Facility on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
  8. Shabdkosh: Shabdkosh was a fun-filled event organized for the students to expand and exhibit their knowledge on words specific to English language, and at the same time, enhance their non-verbal communication skills.
  9. MBA1 vs MBA2 Debate Competition: MBA1 vs MBA2 was an inter-batch (1st year vs 2nd year) Debate competition organized to keep students get acquainted with how debate is done and at the same time hone their debating skills.
  10. Perspectives: Perspectives is an Inter-college event that provides an open platform for participants to express their views and opinions on a Geopolitical topic. It encourages students to stay abreast on recent happenings of the world and improve their Group Discussion skills, and at the same time be honored with prizes. 
  11. Abhivyakti: The Literary Club's premier Storytelling and Poetry Slam event of the year, Abhivyakti, was organised as part of Agnitraya 9.0. It fostered the spirit of creativity by giving participants an opportunity to display their Poetic storytelling skills. The event saw tremendous response from all over the country and finalists from across the nation arrived on campus to perform in front of eminent artists from Kahi UnKahi, the popular YouTube channel.
