At IIM Kashipur, cinema isn't just an escape; it's a lens through which we view the world. The Motion Picture Club (TMPC) is the premier hub for cinephiles, storytellers, and critics alike. We bridge the gap between pure entertainment and intellectual discovery, turning every screening into a masterclass in narrative and culture.
What We Do:
Curated Cinematic Journeys: From cult classics to global masterpieces, we host screenings that challenge perspectives and spark dialogue.
The Intersection of Art & Business: We deconstruct film through the lens of management, exploring leadership, ethics, and strategy hidden in scriptwriting and direction.
Creative Battlegrounds: Through design, storytelling, and analytical competitions, we give students a stage to showcase their off-screen talents.
Community & Spirit: Whether it's the roar of a live sporting event or the hushed silence of a gripping thriller, we create the shared experiences that define campus life.
Apart from that, we have also screened around 20+ movies and other events, including cricket and soccer matches, and F1 races. We have also expanded our social media presence by regularly posting movie-related content, including movie recommendations and featuring series like 'Best of Directors'.
We extend our gratitude to the college administration, our members, and our dedicated team for their unwavering support and enthusiasm. The Motion Picture Club continues to thrive as a hub for film enthusiasts, fostering a love for cinema and creative expression. We look forward to an exciting and productive next quarter.

- Adla Badli 5.0: A creative online poster-making competition where participants got to reimagine and redesign movie posters in their own unique way. Whether through satire, modern reinterpretations, or artistic twists, this competition allowed students to showcase their design skills and creativity while having fun with their favorite films.
- System Hang: A fun, interactive event designed for all movie lovers. It included a mix of movie-related quizzes, crosswords, and rapid-fire rounds, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. The event brought together students who enjoy testing their film knowledge while competing in a relaxed and entertaining setting.
- Cinephile Conundrum: A movie-themed quiz competition held during Agnitraya that tested participants' film knowledge. Covering everything from classic cinema to modern blockbusters, the quiz featured rounds on directors, iconic dialogues, soundtracks, and cinematic history. This event was a major attraction among movie buffs who love challenging themselves.
- Filmphoria: A short film-making competition that gave students an opportunity to step into the role of a filmmaker. Participants wrote, directed, and edited their own short films, experimenting with different genres and storytelling techniques. The competition highlighted students' creative potential and provided a platform to showcase their filmmaking skills.
