Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management

About the Area

The endeavour of the OB/HRM area at IIM Kashipur is to further a basic understanding of individual and group behaviour at the organisational and individual level. The area seeks to integrate theory and practice in researching and teaching HRM and OB.

The nature of work has changed with new terms being used to describe the context of work such as 'liquid modernity', the’ gig economy’, ‘zero-hour contracts’ and the ‘digitalised nature’ of the modern workplace.  Given the above operative background, the area strives to apply and transmit its research and instructional pedagogy into practical implications for a wide arena of stakeholders. The area also furthers IIM Kashipur's footprint through vigorous outreach with the corporate world and also offers customised MDPs to managers, governmental and non-governmental participants.

Apart from core HRM/OB instructional courses on people management and organisational behaviour, the range of research and teaching of the HRM/OB Area faculty at the PGP, executive education and doctoral levels are varied and eclectic.
