About Details

The Marketing Club of IIM Kashipur, OnYourMark, was established on January 16, 2014, by students driven by their passion for marketing. OnYourMark's primary objective is to cultivate an environment conducive to learning and growth in marketing for the students of IIM Kashipur. Through a combination of practical and theoretical approaches, the club aims to ignite interest and provide a comprehensive understanding of marketing concepts.

At the core of OnYourMark's mission is the goal of kindling and sustaining students' interest in marketing through a holistic approach that blends practical experience with theoretical knowledge. We assist students in exploring career opportunities in marketing by offering support during the industry recruitment process. We achieve this through various activities such as interactive workshops, seminars, quizzes, competitions, and case studies, all designed to enhance students' marketing proficiency.

Moreover, OnYourMark is dedicated to preparing students for success in corporate competitions and other inter and intra-college events by providing industry exposure and relevant training.

Events

Markaholic: The flagship case study competition of OYM which is an event conducted during Agnitraya, with participants coming from all the top B-schools like IIM Lucknow, IIM K, IIFT, etc. The participation this year was 1500+ teams and impressions of 45,000+.

Guerrilla MarFair: Guerrilla MarFair is a dynamic guerrilla marketing event where participants can create displays and promote any brand. This year, the event achieved an impressive turnout with an average participation of over 75 students.

Dumb-Char-ads: Dumb-Char-ads, an engaging offline event featuring multiple elimination rounds, challenged over 200 teams to act out brands and create imaginative taglines. The competition showcased diverse creative talents.

Pitch Please: Pitch Please, an inter-college sales pitch event hosted on the UnStop platform, attracted 100+ teams from across India. The challenge lies in presenting a persuasive pitch, with winners decided based on criteria such as creativity, originality, content, and communication skills.

Product Resurrection: Product Resurrection is an intra-college event that challenges participants to revive and present great products in a modern and successful manner. The competition tests creativity and problem-solving skills.

Meme-omento: Having the participation of 45+ teams, Meme-Omento is conducted to instill marketing knowledge in students about moment marketing through its quiz and meme-making rounds.

Online Week of Social Media Marketing: Participants create a video Advertisement based on the theme selected and strive to go viral on social media. This tests and hones the participant’s social media strategy and technique which is a quickly growing and required marketing skill.

Ambush Marketing: An offline event where the participants use their creativity to implement the tactic of ambush marketing to ambush their rival teams during the Kashipur Premier League.

Another noteworthy initiative undertaken by the OnYourMark club is the creation and distribution of Coffee Reads. These are weekly articles designed to enhance the marketing acumen of the entire batch. These articles cover a wide range of marketing topics, including digital marketing strategies, market analysis, branding techniques, and more.

The club also conducts Dossier sessions to increase the Knowledge in the field of marketing with the objective to help the students perform better in studies and their placements.
