About Parivartan Cell

Parivartan, IIM Kashipur's social responsibility Cell, is committed to using managerial skills and expertise to improve society's health, environment, and education. We strive to raise awareness among students and the larger community and promote the concept of “sharing as giving”. As a team, we believe in the power of collaboration and work closely with various non-governmental organizations, government institutions, and corporate partners to achieve our goals. Through a range of events and competitions, we aim to raise awareness and educate individuals about social issues and the importance of social responsibility.

Events

Below are the details of different social initiatives undertaken by Parivartan Cell involving institute students.

KITES

As part of the KITES initiative, the Parivartan Cell is providing support and assistance to two schools located near IIM Kashipur. We are implementing the following measures to aid them:

  • Stationary Distribution Drive – Stationary including notebooks, sketch pens, drawing books and pens were donated to 200 students at the nearby government schools and the children of construction workers in the institute.
  • Voluntary teaching– Multiple teaching sessions were conducted by the students of IIM Kashipur for the students of nearby schools.
  • Fitness and Self Defense Workshop – A Fitness and Self Defense workshop was organized in nearby schools under the KITES initiative. The workshop was aimed to empower the students with values of fitness and train them to defend themselves.
  • Christmas Celebration – We celebrated Christmas in nearby schools under the KITES initiative and spread joys with toffees and gifts.
  • Career Counselling - A session was organized named “ Main Bada Hokar Kya Banana Chahta Hun”, that was aimed to help the 60 students of nearby schools to understand the opportunities and choose a successful career path based on their interests and talents.

 

Drives

Blood Donation Drive

Organized a "Blood Donation Drive" on our campus in collaboration with "Bharat Vikas Parishad". Donors included students and faculties from the institute.

Blanket Donation Drive

A fundraising campaign was conducted in the campus for the blanket donation. We were able to procure and distribute 150 kits which included Blankets, Gloves, and Socks, in and around Kashipur and to Vridh Ashram Pariwar in Haldwani.

Cleanliness Drive

Cleanliness drive was conducted in collaboration with ‘Parivartan The Change’ NGO and we were able to collect 210 kg of waste from the nearby area of Moteshwar Mahadev Mandir, Kashipur.

Clothes Donation drive

The clothes Donation Drive was conducted in the IIM Kashipur campus in which students donated their old clothes and it was distributed to the needy in collaboration with the Locally situated NGO Khwaahish.

Skip a Meal

223 students of IIM Kashipur voluntarily skipped their meals to help feed the underprivileged. The raw materials saved were donated to feed children and adults.

Inter/Intra College Events

Article Writing Competition

The article Writing Competition was organized to encourage students to ponder the positives and negatives of peer influence on the career choices.

Run for Unity Marathon

On the day of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, we have organized a 3 km marathon called “Run for Unity” to make everyone aware of the idea of strength, unity, and diversity.

Pitch Karo
Bold and transformative ideas ignited the stage, spanning the vital domains of health, environment, and education.

Public Policy Discussion
A successful online event about "Rural Renewables: Tapping Potential through CSR Initiatives" got a lot of attention online because it made a big impact and was very successful.
 

Other events

Diwali Exhibition

The exhibition was aimed to promote eco-friendly Diwali celebrations with handmade Diwali products in collaboration with Khwaahish NGO. The products were purely handmade by the students of the NGO. The exhibition generated a sale of around Rs 30,000.

Career Counselling Session

Career Counselling session was organized for the school students during the event Utthishtha’23. The session was aimed at helping students in making the best choices for their selection of streams based on their skills and aptitude.

International Day of Disability

Immersing ourselves in the profound experience of our visit to J.S.R Special School, where we embraced Disability Day alongside the remarkable school children.
