The participants for PGP will be selected on the basis of the national level common admission test. Institute can conduct additional tests and can also consider other components to select suitable candidates for the course and to give equal opportunities to the candidates of different categories on the basis of educational and socio-economic background. The admissions will be guided by the admission policy of the Institute.

The admission to the Post Graduate Programme offered by the institute is through the Common Admission Test and the Eligibility criteria are the same as those for CAT.

Government of India Scholarships:
The following GOI Scholarships are available to the PGP Participants:

Need cum Merit based Financial Assistance

Financial assistance in the form of 100%, 50% and 25% fee tuition waiver is given to up to 10% of the PGP participants based on their family income and academic performance. Any student, including those belonging to the SC/ST category, whose total annual family income does not exceed Rs. 3,00,000/- is eligible for consideration of these scholarships. The financial assistance is available to both the PGP-I-Year and PGP-II-Year students.

  • The candidates for the programme should have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution recognized and approved by AICTE/AIU:
    • A master's degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade point average with a Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) (OR)
    • Five year integrated Master’s Degree Programme in any discipline with at least 60% marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent (OR)
    • A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade point average (OR)
    • 4 years / 8 semester bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech./B. Arch. etc.) with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade point average.

A prospective candidate will have an option to apply to maximum two areas of specialization in the same application form. The selection process for the two areas will be independent of each other and will be conducted separately.

Selection Process

  • The total evaluation process for prospective candidates will involve 200 marks. The weightage for the written test part (either through IIM Kashipur administered Research Aptitude Test – RAT or through any of the standard tests like CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC-JRF, provided any of these standard tests has been taken within preceding two years period at the time of the application) and the personal interview part will be equal (100 marks each). For alumni of full-time two-year PGP from IIMs, written test scores are not required..
  • The RAT will be conducted on 15 April 2018 at IIM Kashipur. RAT will consist of two sections and will involve a total of 100 marks.

    Section 1 (the quantitative part) of RAT involving 50 marks, will be applicable for all applicants appearing for this test and will be conducted on Aprail 15, 2018 morning. It will involve a multiple choice question test of 60 minute duration and will have three parts with scope of coverage in:

    a. Quantitative Aptitude (covering interpretation of data and mapping and analysis of data)
    b. Logical Reasoning (covering analogies, alphabet series, number series, arguments, deductive & inductive research, Venn diagram)
    c. Research Aptitude (covering basic statistics including meaning and characteristics of research, type of research, methods of research, analysis & tools for data analysis and quantitative & qualitative research)

    Candidates scoring at least 20 marks in Section A will appear in Section 2 of the test. This will be conducted in the afternoon on the same day.

    Section 2 will involve the analysis of a management case. It will be specific to the chosen area of research of the candidate. The objective of the test is to evaluate candidate’s ability to assimilate and communicate relevant knowledge and insights by correlating the same with real life practices in the areas of management.

  • Institute may fix separate minimum cut-off score for candidates applying on the basis of their scores in standard tests other than RAT.
  • The RAT will be conducted on 15 April 2018 at IIM Kashipur. RAT will consist of two sections and will involve a total of 100 marks.

During the selection process on April 15, 2018 at IIM Kashipur, the prospective candidates can plan and arrange board and lodging at Kashipur on their own if they wish so. However, IIM Kashipur will help in the booking process for accommodation at Kashipur at concessional rates if the Institute FPM admission department (contact: Dr. Vinay Sharma) is individually contacted, though actual boarding and lodging cost will be borne by the prospective candidate.
